Uzès is a small town continuously occupied since prehistoric times. We you visit our camping, we can really recommend a visit to this historic town. It has both historic and artistic character now safeguarded by the Malraux act of 1962. There is a magnificent medieval ducal château in the middle of the town which is open to sightseers every day.

The markets on Saturday and Wednesday demonstrate the full character of the region with local produce and wares and are much appreciated and well attended. Uzès is also very much valued by film directors who have used the town as a setting for their films, a good example being Cyrano de Bergerac.

At the foot of Uzès, in the Alzon Valley is the spring which supplies the channel wending its way to and over the Pont du Gard to feed the town of Nîmes. The connection of Uzès with the manufacture of sweets is now represented by HARIBO and has resulted in the founding of the excellent Musée du bonbon.
